I teach and publish (articles, books, and
courseware) in many areas of information systems focusing on strategy,
management, and technology.
My current research interests include
the strategic, tactical, and operational management of Information Systems
(IS), Business Intelligence, Software Testing and Quality Assurance (SQA),
Information Technology (IT) Budgeting, Offshore and Outsourcing of IT,
Development methodologies and frameworks, and development architectures,
platforms and languages including: .NET, PHP/MySQL, Ruby on Rails,
WebSphere, Visual Basic, C#, AJAX, and Java.
My latest two book that were published in
2007:
- Jim E. Cates, Sam S. Gill, and
Natalie Zeituny: "Climbing the Ladder of Business Intelligence". The
goal of this book is to introduce an intelligence framework that
builds a foundation for success. The Ladder is really a Ladder of
Business Intelligence (LOBI) that aims to create intelligent
organizations in which technology systems are designed to support
success. You can purchase the book at

- Dean Lane, Editor, Kendall/Hunt
Publishing Company, 2007 - "As the CIO role continues to evolve into
a business leadership role, CIO Perspectives provides a fresh and
new look at contemporary and advanced topics for the CIO.
...Compiled of real lessons from the CIO trenches...written by CIO s
for CIO s, and those that aspire to be, the book focuses on the
hands-on experiences needed to save the reader their own years of
trial and error. CIO Perspectives transcends topics of traditional
IT management and addresses cutting-edge CIO challenges like mergers
and acquisitions, e-commerce, and the CIO in business strategy."
I am currently
engaged in research on two topics: Green IT and Cloud
Computing. |
