How Much Does War Cost?
PRESIDENT SIGNS RECORD DEFENSE BUDGET- ALMOST $1 BILLION A DAYPresident Bush approved a $355.5 Billion budget for the Pentagon last week, to provide the military with " every tool, every resource..." for national defense. This year, America will spend more than $40 Million every HOUR of the year on its military. In barely TWO MINUTES, Pentagon spending exceeds the annual budget for Wellness Centers in SF high schools; in less than an hour, military spending exceeds the SF's Dept. of Children Youth & Family's ANNUAL budget. In barely three DAYS, exceeds California's entire child care subsidy system for low-income and other working families. [from Coleman Advocates for Youth & Families]
