Morphometric Measurement of Scorpions

The following measurements are common ones used to measure and characterize scorpions for taxonomic and systematic studies. Most of these measurements are taken to a tenth of a millimeter accuracy. A few of the smaller dimensions may be taken to a hundredth of a millimeter. A indicates general size and carapace measurments, B indicated measurements of the chela, C. indicates reference denticles on the inner surface of the chela fingers, D incicates measurements of the telson. In addition a number of counts, and character states may be useful to record.
