The Romberg Tiburon Center is San Francisco State University's marine field station located 30 minutes north of San Francisco on the Tiburon Peninsula. The Center is the only academic research facility situated on San Francisco Bay, the largest estuary on the west coast of the United States.

The Center provides students with graduate, undergraduate, and extended learning courses as well as practical experience gained through research conducted in the laboratories of RTC scientists. There are classrooms, a computer lab and a teaching laboratory at the center that will be used for wetlands science courses. In addition some classes will use the centers research vessels and van for field trips in and around SF Bay

The Center also houses the headquaters of the San Francisco Bay Reserve, which is part of a National Estuarine Research Reserve System that provides essential habitat to wildlife, offers educational opportunities, and serves as living laboratories for scientists..
