What are the Requirements for the AAC EI Endorsement Program?

Students and professionals in Special Education and Related Services are invited to apply to the program. Specifically, this includes current SFSU graduate students in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), Communicative Disorders (CD), and Physical Disabilities Credential Program (PHI). In addition, professionals who are credential holders in ECSE, PHI, or related fields; or SLPs may apply to the program. Curriculum requirements include completion of two 3-credit courses and a 120-practicum to develop knowledge and skills in AAC services in inclusive early intervention settings. Specific requirements are as follows:

ECSE Credential Candidates/Holders:

SPED 743: Issues in AAC & SPED 746: Teaching in PHI + 120 Practicum
PHI Credential Candidates/Holders:
SPED 777: Atypical Infant & SPED 738: Preschool Intervention +120 Hour Practicum
SLP Candidates/Certified:
SPED 777: Atypical Infant & SPED 738: Preschool Intervention +120 Hour Practicum including Building Bridges Camp
