My Courses

My area of expertise is biological anthropology.  I teach the introductory biological anthropology course (ANTH 100), the Foundations of Human Variation course (ANTH 302), two of the methods courses (Human Osteology Practicum - ANTH 530/730 and Fossil Humans Practicum - ANTH 531/731), the Bioarchaeology course (ANTH 545), the Graduate Seminar in Biological Anthropology (ANTH 760), and the Directed Thesis Advising and Support course (ANTH 897).  My research area is in skeletal biology.  The majority of my research has focused on the bioarchaeology and population distance studies of proto-historic S.E. Native American populations.  I am also the director of the Bioanthropology Laboratory.  The SFSU Bioanthropology Laboratory has completed the human remains portions of numerous NAGPRA compliance inventories not only for SFSU but also other local agencies.  The SFSU Bioanthropology Laboratory offers consulting services to public and private organizations in the excavation and/or analysis of recent and archeological human remains.
