Sandstone
Sedimentary
Sandstone is a clastic sedimentary rock composed of abundant rounded or angular grains of sand (dominantly quartz, feldspar, and sometimes small rock fragments). Sand grains are usually cemented with silica (sometimes with calcium carbonate). Many times you can see sedimentary structures in sandstone like bedding/layering, ripple marks, etc. Sandstones that have very high percentages of quartz originated as beach sands.
