Members are interested in focusing on three areas of activities to achieve, and assure the academic success of, a diverse library workforce. We will collaborate with DIAL-South and San José State University SLIS when possible and appropriate.

• Find, collate, and disseminate scholarship information
• Work with SPECTRUM
• Network with diversity programs and organizations; share recruitment ideas
• Feminist Task Force
• African-American Librarians
• APALA
• American Indian Library Association
• Others TBD
• Work with community colleges and career fairs (specifically SJSU SLIS)
• Disseminate information to academic advisors

• Develop mentor list
• Tap into, or create, mentorship programs

• Find statistical information/research about issues/obstacles faced by librarians of color during the RTP process and in the academy
• Survey librarians of color on obstacles found in RTP process; publish findings (?)
• Develop mentorship program or mentor email list
• Advocate—“make noise” for retention of librarians of color
