DRAFT suggestions for what to say: 

·       I am contacting you because you expressed an interest in participating in CARL’s DIAL Interest Group – Diversity in Academic Libraries.  [Review the mission statement, if necessary?]  At the recent meeting of DIAL North on July 30^th we discussed possible program topics.  We want to encourage others to become active in planning northern activities, so we have a few questions.

·       The July 30^th meeting was Friday at noon in the Library at CSU Monterey Bay.  Did you consider coming to this meeting? 

·       What are good times and locations for future meetings of DIAL north?

·       What is your interest in DIAL or would you like to see as the initial focus of DIAL North?

·       At the meeting, we shared our definitions of diversity in academic libraries – how would you define it?

·       Would you be interested in helping to plan a future program?
