Kabbalah for Spring 2010
Study Guide for Zohar
Five things you can do to make Zoharic study a bit easier:
1. Identify each section that begins ostensibly with "In the beginning (bereshit)."
2. What are the main themes of each of the above sections?
3. Identify who the main speakers are of each section.
4. Now that you've fiinished the Haqdamat, summarize the reasons as to why bereshit incorporates so many different themes in the Zohar.
5. Of the themes you identified in #2, which ones might connect to earlier projects in Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism? Are there any shared images or tropes?
