For many companies college recruiting is
a important part of the recruiting strategy.
Some of the reasons why college students
are being actively recruited:
- Many students these days have a lot of
business savvy and/or experience. Many are re-entry students, many
have paid their way through school designing web pages or doing
programming, while others have done web pages and programming for
their university on a volunteer basis.
- Many students these days are anxious
to begin a serious career, especially if they have incurred college
loan debt.
- Most students are very loyal to the
companies who first "gave them the chance" to prove the
skills they learned in school, or who gave them further training.
This is especially true with re-entry students.
