VIRTUAL WQRLD SIG MEETING TONITE 5/14
At tonight's Palo Alto meeting of the VIRTUAL WORLD SIG, 3 open source virtual worlds are presenting Palo Alto and will be streamed online

INFO ON BEING LISTED ON THE TECH VIRTUAL PROJECT
Bob Ketner has added a new subcategory, "Virtual Worlds", to the topics you can propose a project for the Creative-Engines exhibit SO YOUR DISPLAY CAN BE LISTED THERE EXPLICITLY.
Here are the steps:

Then you will be able to select a sub-category "virtual worlds"
NOTE: The verbiage is tailored to their competitions, like "ready to be judged" etc. - just ignore that and enter descriptions of the virtual world concept.

Final Due Dates + Deliverables
Thursday 5/14 by class start time: Tech Virtual Presentation Setup
Required: Some number of Poster-boards (flattened boxes) with Textures, Objects from your experiment if you had any.
Information on Poster-board Textures: Title, 3-6 sentences text description summarizing your concept, images (sketches and images from experiment). Go the the last link in the prev post and look at some of the existing projects in development. Think HS Science Fair...>;O)
(I am working out where our zone is and how we put things down; you can build stuff elsewhere and keep it in your Inventory)
Tuesday 5/19 by class start time: Power-Point Presentation (10 mins)
NOTE: Janis Nakano Spivack will be attending, the idea is to communicate the key elements of your concept design proposal and lead a brief discussion.
Content: Summarize your response to EACH of the 10 items from the Final Project Specifications at http://online.sfsu.edu/~jkv4edu/VWS/627/FINAL_PROJECT_SPEK_v1.pdf
Minimally one slide for each + extra slides holding additional sketches, SL images from your experiment, images from other researched worlds, etc. Video movies from your experiment (if you have them) can accompany the PPT presentation.
Friday 5/22 by 2pm to my Office Mailbox: CD of Final Project + Blog Contents
One or more data CDROM(s) containing:
1. Final Project Design Concept Proposal (pdf+optional videos; PDF contains text and sketches, design comps, screen grabs, etc). This can be generated using Word, In-Design, etc.
2. Class Blog Contents: Create a folder called "yourlastname DAI 627", display your blog in a browser window and File > Save Page As > and save it as the default format (web page complete) into the folder. Check to make sure images and videos you have posted are also in there.
