Week # II |
Monday: 29 Jan. 2001 |
Topic: |
§ Introduction to SIMVENTURE |
Readings: |
§ W. Edwards Deming is a management analyst who came up with something called the “Theory of Constraints.” Don’t be put off by that title or topic because this web site will serve as an introduction to General Systems Theory, a conscious approach that we will use to develop our web site proposal. Go to this link and work through it, paying careful attention to the vocabulary of the field. In fact, you will find a glossary there. Many of the terms are specific to Deming’s work, so don’t feel you have to memorize them. Just look for things related to the definition of o SYSTEM; o VARIABLES; o RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN VARIABLES and o SYSTEM GOALS. |

In-Class Assgns: |
