RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Liao's primary areas of research are in intergroup relations and diversity, culture and help-seeking attitudes, and vocational interest structure and assessment. Her current ongoing research includes Asian/Asian Americans' status-based rejection sensitivity and essentialist and malleable lay theory on social functioning, cultural influences on Asian/Asian Americans' likelihood of seeking counseling help, perception of subtle racism, and examination of vocational interest structure and assessment.
