EDUCATION Ph.D., Counseling Psychology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign M.A., Counselor Education in Psychology, New York University B.S., Psychology, National Taiwan University RESEARCH INTERESTS Dr. Liao's primary areas of research are in intergroup relations and diversity, culture and help-seeking attitudes, and vocational interest structure and assessment. Her current ongoing research includes Asian/Asian Americans' status-based rejection sensitivity and essentialist and malleable lay theory on social functioning, cultural influences on Asian/Asian Americans' likelihood of seeking counseling help, perception of subtle racism, and examination of vocational interest structure and assessment.
