| The accordion is the official musical instrument of San Francisco. This city played an important role in its invention, was the center of its manufacture in the early 1900s, and has contributed many great performers. The Guerrini Accordion Company (1903-1968) was located at 277 Columbus Avenue. This photograph of its booth at the 1915 San Francisco World's Fair is from an original, unpublished 8x10-inch glass negative, which is of extremely high quality, and so the following closeups were possible of the artist portraits on display throughout the booth. Unfortunately, no identifications are given, and so any help by accordion historians, sheet music collectors, or photography archivists would be appreciated. |
