Accommodators (Concrete experience/Active experimenter) are motivated by the question, "what would happen if I did this?" They look for significance in the learning experience and consider what they can do, as well as what others have done previously. These learners are good with complexity and are able to see relationships among aspects of a system.

List of characteristics:

  • Anything that encourages independent, self discovery is the most desirable.
  • Accommodators prefer to be active participants in their learning.
  • Seek hidden possibilities.
  • Need to know what can be done with things.
  • Learn by trial and error.
  • Perceive information concretely and process it actively.
  • Likes variety and flexibility.
  • Risk takers.
  • Function by acting and testing experience.
Strength:
  • Action, carrying out plans.
Goals:
  • To make things happen, to bring action to concepts.
Careers:
  • Marketing, sales, action-oriented managerial jobs.
