Jermone Bruner
1915-
Bruner is one of the constructivists. He maintains that people interpret the world according to categorization, and learning is an active process in which learners construct new ideas or concepts from their current knowledge and past experience. He thinks that based on a cognitive structure, the learnig activity involves information selection and transformation, hypothesis construction, and decision making. Besides, he advocates spiral organized instruction and discovery learning method. Because he believes this learning method is favorable for arousing students' curiosity and motivating them to solve problems independently.
