This is a rather unusual Hypholoma  species that is restricted to growing on
senescent leaf sheaths of bamboo in lowland alien forests.  We have collected it several
times in two remote bamboo groves at opposite ends of the island of Maui.  The
campanulate to cuspidate, brown pileus with a margin fringed in veil remnants is
distinctive.
