Dr. Mak is Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the College of Business at San Francisco State University.  In 2003 Dr. Mak received the research professor of the year award in the College of Business at San Francisco State University. Dr. Mak received the MS in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, MS in Statistics and Ph.D. in Business from Northwestern University.  Her research interests include data mining, neural networks, genetic algorithms, computer art education, employee retention, hospitality customer and employee management, and mobile communication.  Dr. Mak is associate editor of International Journal of Information Processing and Management (http://www.humanpub.org/ijipm/edit_board.html). She has published extensively in prestigious journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Information & Management, Information Processing & Management, Computers & Graphics, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research and others.
