Kin 485 Outline
Kin 485 Schedule

Our course in Biomechanics (Kin 485) provides a detailed theoretical review of the biomechanical principles that govern human motion. In addition, every student works on a term paper project that investigates the relationship between theory and practice in a selected human movement. This term paper is based upon a video based analysis of a student selected movement. For example, if you are interested in improving your tennis serve or golf drive, you can videotape yourself and a highly skilled performer and then conduct a quantitative comparison of the two movements. The photos on this page are all taken from Kin 485 student projects.

The Kinematic Analysis software is used to process the video data for each term paper. This software is available for free to all students. You can work on your project in the 22 PC Movement Analysis Laboratory. You can also install the KAVideo software on your home PC and prepare your paper in the convenience of your own home.
