Professional work

Currently I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management. I received my Ph.D. in Strategic Management from University of Maryland, College Park in 2006. My teaching interests include Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Organization Theory, and Innovation & Technology. Before coming to San Francisco State University I taught Business Policy at the University of Maryland, covering major topics in strategic management with special focus on case analysis and discussions, group projects, and student presentations.

My research focuses on the processes of emergence and accumulation of intangible firm resources, such as reputation, knowledge, human capital and social capital. I am particularly interested in the actions that young technology-based firms can use to influence the formation of stakeholder perceptions about their innovations. My papers appear in th Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Strategic Organization, Corporate Reputation Review, International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, etc.
