DETERMINING APPROPRIATE VISUAL READING MEDIA
FOR STUDENTS WITH LOW VISION
SURVEY DESCRIPTION
Teachers of students with visual impairments are
invited to participate in an online survey that will examine the reading
needs of students with low vision. It is part of a larger study conducted
by Dr. Amanda Lueck at San Francisco State University and Dr. Ian Bailey,
University of California, Berkeley.
Information you provide, based upon your experience
and insights with students who have low vision, will help to identify typical
reading behaviors and critical reading tasks for these students.
This information will guide us in formulating recommendations for educators
in determining appropriate reading media and reading adaptations.
These recommendations will be made available to educators through the American
Printing House for the Blind.
This online survey is confidential
and will take about 20 minutes of your time. It is not a commercial
survey. If you would like to learn more about the survey, or have
a question, please feel free to contact Amanda Lueck at 415 338-1080.
TO COMPLETE THE SURVEY
The survey is in an Excel document format (part
of Microsoft Office), and it should be quite easy.
