The following links will provide you with basic information about the nation's top polluters, as well as polluting facilities in your own community.

 

#1. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA):

The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) is a publicly available EPA database that contains information on toxic chemical releases and waste management activities reported annually by certain industries as well as federal facilities.

#2. Scorecard:

Scorecard was launched by one of the nation's leading environmental advocacy groups, Environmental Defense Fund, and is now owned by another NPO, Green Media Toolshed. GMT provides free public-information services and works to enhance nation-wide communication with the media.

 

#3. Invisible-5 Audio Project

Invisible-5 is a self-guided critical audio tour along Interstate 5 between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It uses the format of a museum audio tour to guide the listener along the highway landscape.
