515 Environmental Justice

This course examines the (1) impact of discrimination and institutional racism on people, land, and place-based policies and practices, environmental decision-making and the right to equal protection from harm; (2) race, class and equity implications and impacts of environmental problems and regulations; (3) distributional dimensions of environmental degradation and environmental protection; and (4) origins and impacts of struggles for environmental justice in the United States and other countries around the world.
