Artistís reconstruction of the burning of Cihuatán. The thatch roof of the P-7 temple is ablaze while the invaders throw the incense burners down the stairs. The faded red and turquoise blue of the temple were common colors for public buildings in Postclassic Mesoamerica. The invaders are shown dressed as Mayan eagle and jaguar knights, although we donít know what they actually wore.
