ESRI Instructor-led Classes
Information explaining what training days we receive
Under the site license agreement with ESRI, the CSU receives 100 training days per contract year, October 1st through September 30th. Please note that we receive training days not classes. Instructor-led classes offered by ESRI are usually 2, 3 or 5 days in length. The classes may be offered face-to-face at a variety of locations or may be accessed remotely as live, online classes. Please see ESRI’s web-site at for a course schedule and descriptions of these courses, http://www.esri.com/training/index.html
At the beginning of the contract year training days are allocated to the participating CSU campuses. These allocations remain in effect until April 1st of the contract year. At that time, any remaining training days are available to members from all campuses on a first come, first-served basis. Training days not used by September 30th are lost.
In order for someone from a campus to make use of the class time, the CSUGIS Board member for that campus needs to email the CSU Site License Administrator with the following information about the person wishing to take a class:
Location (City or Online)
The CSU Site License Administrator completes a registration form and forwards it to ESRI. The student will receive enrollment confirmation from ESRI directly.
The CSU Site License Administrator uses a spreadsheet to keep track of who has used class time and how much is still available. There are often a number of days still available for training during the summer. Faculty may plan accordingly.
Please note that the GIS Specialty Center does not provide travel funds to attend these training classes.
While the number of days for leader-led classes are limited, there is no limit to the number of Virtual Campus Classes you may give to students, faculty, or staff.
