The College of Business at San Francisco State University offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Business Administration (MSBA) programs in Electronic Commerce (EC). These programs are designed to prepare graduates for management careers in business-to-business and business-to-consumer electronic commerce. The MBA program is a general business management program with limited specialization in electronic commerce. The MSBA program is an in-depth program concentrating in electronic commerce.
The MSBA Program in Electronic Commerce The MSBA program provides students with an in-depth understanding of the planning, development, and management of electronic commerce applications. Students gain a grasp of both the technical and marketing aspects of electronic commerce as well as how EC fits into overall business strategy. Core courses in the emphasis cover: design and development of electronic commerce Web sites, data communications and network technology, management of electronic commerce projects, and marketing concepts related to electronic commerce. Elective courses allow students to pursue selected technical or non-technical topics in depth. For the MSBA program in Electronic Commerce, students must complete ten graduate-level business courses. The program contains eight required courses and two elective courses.

The MBA Program in Electronic Commerce The MBA program provides students with a general knowledge of business management while allowing each student to develop an understanding of selected aspects of electronic commerce. Students may choose to emphasize technical topics related to EC, marketing aspects of EC, or combinations of these or other business areas. Courses that students may elect to take cover the design and development of electronic commerce web sites, Internet marketing, electronic commerce project management, marketing strategy for electronic commerce, data communications, multimedia application development, and other business aspects of electronic commerce. For the MBA program in Electronic Commerce, students must complete ten graduate-level business courses, six of which are required and cover general business topics. Of the remaining elective courses, students must select three in electronic commerce and a fourth in any area of business. Faculty have received Ph.D.s from top-rated programs such as Harvard, Stanford, and U.C. Berkeley. The faculty has extensive teaching and research experience, numerous publications, and significant consulting experience in electronic commerce. Facilities The College of Business provides complete computer facilities for course work, although each student is encouraged to have his or her own personal computer. The College maintains a local area network (LAN) with all necessary computer hardware and software for student use. An advanced computer laboratory in the College of Business has specialized computer hardware and software for use in certain courses of the program. The University provides complete Internet access for all students. Accreditation The College of Business is fully accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate level by the International Association for Management Education (AACSB). "San
